More Pic's!!

Preston at 12 weeks!
Getting better at holding his head up, but not quite there yet!

I love this pic for several reasons. If you can't read his shirt it says, "I'M NOT A GIRL." But if you look closely he's in a girly crib with pink sheets and bumpers. No, this is not his crib...it's a friends (see pic below). But I love the onesie (thank you Aina & Caleb) b/c it reminds me of when I was 20 weeks pregnant our Dr. told us that I was having a girl. Well, 70% likely...I don't know how they come up with those numbers, but he obviously didn't get a clear view. Anyways, 5 weeks later we were told, "IT'S NOT A GIRL!"

Preston's friend, Miss Lily! Precious.

On our way to go swimming, so excited!!! And then...
Mom puts the hat on.

Couldn't resist including this one...cute feet!

Playing along! ~ 10 weeks

Thank you Aunt Jen for the piano toy. He loves it.

Listening to his piano toy play music...maybe he'll play one day like his daddy!
Picture taken during one of the many monsoons. I talk about this pic in an earlier post.
Preston splashing in his ducky bath. Everyone needs one of these. If you squeeze its bill it quacks! Fascinating, I know.
All smiles!
Hmmm, soapy wash cloth...yummy? 10 weeks.

And an update on us:
We are moving this week! We found a house that we love, but still own our house here so, Please pray for our house here to sell QUICKLY! So we're busy busy with moving, packing, transitioning, and Preston!

Christmas in July

I feel like a kid again! The book has arrived! You know the one I'm talking about...the one that makes the series complete. Yes, it was delivered to my door today. ONLY because my husband pre-ordered it for me on Amazon so I could have it THE day it came out, and didn't have to wait in any crazy lines! Thanks babe! And, to make it even better it was delivered by a lady in an un-marked black van...true Harry Potter style. What can I say, I guess the muggle lady didn't want any dementors following her. :) Happy reading to all you H.P. fans!

Summer Yummies!

Thought I would share some of my favorite summertime food!! The first is a very yummy drink, IZZE! Thank you Ang for opening my eyes to the wonderful world of Izze. They come in several flavors but grapefruit is my personal favorite! It's a delicious fruity drink and SO refreshing in the summer heat! AND it's good for you...no refined sugar, no caffeine, and made with real fruit juice! :) You might have seen them at Starbucks, but they also sell them at certain grocery stores too!
Second is Rainier cherries. Delicious and you can only find them in the summer!
Third, is fish! I love all kinds...maybe b/c I'm from the Houston area and the fish is always fresh. Anyways, I can brag on my parents cooking skills...they are both great cooks! Here is a wonderful Tilapia recipe from my dad. Great for the summer b/c it's light & so simple to make!
Here's the recipe: Tilapia with Lemon and Parmesan
Ingredients:
  • Olive Oil or nonstick spray
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 4 to 6 tilapia fillets
  • Juice from 1 lemon
  • salt & ground black pepper to taste

Preheat broiler and lightly oil or spray a baking sheet

Mix the mayonnaise and cheese in a small bowl and set aside

Place fillets on the prepared baking sheet; drizzle with lemon juice and season with salt and pepper.

Broil 4 to 5 minutes, or until the fillets are nearly cooked through

Remove from the oven and top each fillet with 1 to 2 tablespoons of the mayonnaise mixure. Return to the broiler and cook until the topping is golden and bubbly, about 2 minutes.

Do you have a yummy summer recipe?

Blanket and a Bible

My dear friend Natalie posted an article on her blog that was very inspiring to me. I've been thinking about it a lot and thought I would ask my blogging friends and family to join in the effort as well. Her posting is about an organization called Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) and they collect blankets to distribute to the people who are suffering from civil war and persecution in the Sudan area. Please click HERE to read her posting called Blanket and a Bible. Natalie is asking for blankets to give to VOM and if you're like me you have extra blankets around your house too!! She explains everything you need to know about getting the blankets and $ to her on her blog. Just make sure you leave a comment on my blog or hers so we know that you're interested. Thanks!

Sleepless in Seattle

Yes I do believe our city should be renamed Seattle, Texas. Have you ever seen so much rain? I mean, don't get me wrong it was needed. And last summer we would have done anything for just a drop, but this is record breaking, right? side story: It rained a ton in College Station too! In fact I bought my first North Face rain jacket there b/c of it. But not before I went to the aTm/ticep game one year and got soaked b/c it rained the entire game, and of course we didn't leave early b/c we're not 2%ers! ;) Then the temp dropped to the teens and we walked home in our soaked clothes to find ourselves to be the color blue. So buy yourself a North Face jacket...it'll keep you dry!

Back to the pt.

Here's how I know it's been raining a lot (other than the obvious)

1. Our backyard has a mini lake in it. (would take a pic but camera is in car with hubby)
2. There are mosquitoes, gnatty bugs, and flies everywhere.
3. We haven't used our sprinkler system all summer and our grass grows an inch per day.
4. Our dog has skillfully placed muddy paw prints all over our house.
5. My skin has taken on a new pale color = no sun! ;)

Welcome to Bloggerworld!

So this is my first post! I have debated creating a blog for a very long time now...and have come to the simple conslusion that this is the best way to keep family(since mine are not in the area) and friends up to date on us. So have patience with me as I figure this whole new world out!
