Lambs, Hens, and Chicks!
Here's my jumbled attempt at summarizing my Mother's Day Weekend! It started off with a trip to Houston on Thursday. I got to hang out with dear friends. As you can see we have multiplied since our college days! I treasure these moments when we get to hang out, even if we're chasing and feeding kids between conversations.
Front row: Kelli and Avery (6 mo.) Mandy and Oliver (3 mo) me and P(1 yr) Ellen and Summer (9 mo) and Ben (almost 3)
Here's a pic of my child trying to get everything within reach. He managed to spill a water and a coffee, as well as spit-up a couple of times. No surprises there! Thank you Kelli for being soooo understanding of all our messes!
Mandy and Oliver! They were in from Alaska and this was the first time we got to meet Oliver. You can't see in this picture but he's got some rolls...they are fantastic!
Some of the kiddos playing together.
Mr. P excited about Oliver's groovy moves in the chair!
They're actually sharing...isn't it sweet?!
While I was home I also got to go to this little boy's birthday party!!! Happy Birthday TEGAN!
I might have given P some cake...there's no evidence though!
It was a really fun party with lots of games of Dodge Ball, and just a few injuries! ;)
and it wouldn't be Tegan's party without some karate moves! Now onto Sunday, Mother's Day!
Here's one of my Mother's Day gifts! I love all the gifts I got, but these are from Jason and it's a plant called Lamb's Ears! It's one of my favorite plants, and we had them planted at our old house, and J has probably heard me say 100x how I wanted some where we live now! They are really fun plants with delicate texture, hence the name.
Love this plant as well. We've had this for a couple of years, but wanted to share it because it's a favorite of mine. It's a succulent, called Hens & Chicks. And if any of you struggle in the green thumb area, this is the plant for you...it's hard to kill.
This is Mother's Day last year. I think Preston was about 2 weeks old. And all I knew was that mothering consisted of very little sleep and feeding every 2.5 hours! My gift from J was the Japanese Maple Tree!

Christmas with Randolph's
Christmas morning at Mom's house...always amazing...every year!
This is Christmas Night at Margaret's house. I need to get pics from someone who actually took pictures that night. I think I was too busy with P, and only took a couple. Thanks Margaret for hosting all of us! It was a great night!

Thanksgiving 2007
Forgive me for just now posting some Thanksgiving pics!! I just couldn't start posting some Christmas ones and just skip over Thanksgiving...even though every store seems to do that.
Thanksgiving 2007 - My mom came up and stayed with us for the week! We loved it. But I don't know how I don't have a picture of her during her stay! Guess we were too busy! We celebrated Thanksgiving at Mimi & Papaw's in Waxahachie with several of the Holleman clan! Then Preston's other Mimi (J's mom) came over the following weekend!

Home Sweet Home...
We are back from a little Christmas trip to Houston. I have MANY pictures to share, but that would require me to find our camera that's still packed somewhere and download pictures...and I am all about mindless activity right now.
Although it's nice to be home, we did have a wonderful week full of time with family and friends. It truly felt like a vacation. Jason and I had a nice technology detox... a week of virtually no cell phone use, Internet, and t.v. (we did sneak off to see a movie)
We are now back to the reality of fixing meals for ourselves ( yes, we're spoiled by my parents who still cook for us) and getting P back on some sort of schedule. He loved being held by anyone who would pick him up...especially when beckoned by his little whimper. He's got us all fooled. :0)
anyways, pictures to come!!!

Tour of Homes
Yes I decided to join BooMama's Christmas Tour of Homes. What a neat idea! I love touring homes, especially at Christmas time. Last year, we joined some friends of ours and did a tour of homes in Jefferson City...an old fashion Christmas with candlelight tours of quaint homes. It was marvelous!
But a virtual tour will have to do this year!!
In our hats. Is this part of the tour?? NO, just wanted to put in the pic.
Now to the tour. He's saying, "Welcome to my home!"
This snowman greets you at our door. (This is for you Carol B.)
Our Christmas Tree. No, there are no gifts under the tree. We already had Christmas on J's side of the family, and we will go to Houston for my side. So if you've ever traveled with a dog and a baby you know to wrap your gifts after you arrive at your destination!
A little bit of Holiday cheer for the little guy. Never too early right? ;)
That's a lot of sugar kisses! love it. He might share with you too!
My nativity from Kazakhstan. The money goes to the local Christian women who make them! We bought several and gave them as gifts one year.
Another nativity...
And another. Don't judge. You can never have too many baby Jesus' right? J would disagree with me. He would be happier with 1. Make that none.
The 12 days of Christmas Nutcracker Collection. Zoom in if you can.
One of my FAVORITE traditions. Each year I hang the Christmas Cards we receive up on ribbons. This is a couple of years worth that you see in this pic.
One of my little tables. I love the little Polar Express lantern and the decorated branches idea I stole from Ang!
Not exactly INSIDE our home, but on the back porch. Cute little chair covers. They just make me smile.
You will also find amaryllis. J forced these bulbs early so we could have them in time for Christmas! Aren't they pretty? Can't have Christmas without them.
A little bit of garland. or a lot. So I have them hanging over several doorways. But the best part is my hubby wired all the lights to one switch. So when I flip the switch... the Christmas tree comes on, the lamps, the garlands, and the mantle lights! You didn't know J was also an electrician did you?
Merry Christmas!!!

Halloween Party!
Our church, The Village, has a wonderful Halloween outreach that we were able to be a part of. Basically the children's ministry distributes bounce houses to several different families to put in their yards. As well as flyers, signs, and the best candy around. They do all the work, and we just host the party! It was a blast. The kids had a great time and we got to meet neighbors and parents as they 'trick-or-treated' with their little ones!
The very cool pumpkin that Collin (and his dad) made for us!
Meeting neighbors, eating hot dogs, enjoying hot chocolate!
Fun in the bounce house!
The highlight of the night for every child in the neighborhood...other than massive amounts of free candy of course.
P and Mallory. So sweet!
Angie helping with the candy. Always serving...we couldn't have done it without her. An amazing gift of hospitality that girl has!
Andrea and Mike. a.k.a Bjork (2001 Oscars) and Beer Man!
Bjork with Preston
My attempt at a frankenstein cake. At least the cupcakes were yummy!
